Meditation

John: John recounts 7 signs (miracles) of Jesus of which this is the second. I might wonder why this royal official would leave his dying son to traipse after some itinerant preacher with a reputation for healing folks. Let’s face it, the distraught father cannot, of himself, improve the lot of his son. It seems this man weighed a doubt against a certainty and went to fetch Jesus. Jesus would know the particulars and concluded the man had faith to believe. Turns out he did and so, by the time the official got home, his son was on the mend.
