Psalm: 119:121-144

Meditation

Isaiah: Christmas marks the beginning of the culmination of the redemption story: the life of Christ. Isaiah’s words can be echoed by believers: “…for though You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You comforted me.” (v. 1) The thing about the water and the well is that it beckons us to Samaria to Jesus and that infamous (now famous) woman. (John 4) It is easy to take water for granted when one is not thirsty, but when one is thirsty (spiritually or physically) like Hagar and this nameless woman in Samaria, it becomes the most precious thing. (v. 3)

Gospel:

John 7:37-52
