Isaiah: The thing about being in the presence of ultimate holiness is that one can see the contrast (between himself and God). Notice Isaiah’s own recognition of his position before God: “Woe is me!” In revelation we see something similar each time the four and twenty elders would fall on their faces before God, and these are the sanctified. The Seraphs proclaim “Holy, holy, holy…” (v.3), also serves to demark the stark differences between both Creator and creature. “Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips…”
