Psalm: 69

Pearl Harbor Day

Meditation

1 Thessalonians: In closing this letter Paul exhorts the Thessalonians to esteem and love our [church] leaders. “Be at peace among yourselves.” (v. 13) What does that take? All too often we sacrifice peace particularly over things over which we have no control. I think the sub-text has more to do with the sovereignty of God and our complete and utter dependence on Him. In the grand scheme of things, we believe we have far more control of events than we actually do. [Remember Pearl Harbor!]

1 Thess. 5:12-28
