Psalm: 60

Meditation

Luke: There is something about the idea of the Temple. It was regarded as the holiest place on earth to the Jews as being where God dwelt. The LORD, in His first commandment, forbade the worship of anyone (or thing) above Him. Solomon’s Temple was destroyed during the Babylonian Captivity.  The “second” Temple was destroyed to make way for Herod the Great’s wondrous re-make of it. That Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. (by the Romans) never to be rebuilt, certainly until this day.

Gospel:

Luke 21:20-28

New Testament:

1 Thess. 5:1-11

Old Testament:

Isaiah 5:8-12, 18-23
