Psalm: 80

Meditation

2 Thessalonians: “…because God chose you as the first fruits for salvation…” (v.13) In just this phrase alone I see at least 2 points. The first: “God chose you…” I was always reluctant to embrace the notion that I did not choose God, as pointed out in this passage, but rather chosen by Him. The longer I live, the more pointed this truth becomes in my life He chose me. The second observation is “first fruits”. This celebration was one of three required of Israelite men to attend at the Temple.

Gospel:

Luke 22:14-30

New Testament:

2 Thess. 2:13 – 3:15
