Psalm: 57
Meditation
Isaiah: It is a pity most of us are not well-versed in husbandry. The image of the vineyard emerges again. So, God planted the vineyard and He expected it to yield grapes but instead, it yielded what must amount to sour grapes. This vineyard = God’s chosen people; God’s plans as regards this are not good. Jesus fashioned also a parable similar to this in Luke 13:6-9 only this time it was a fig tree in the midst of a vineyard. (Why would anyone plant a fig tree in a vineyard?) Isaiah speaks of God’s judgment and Jesus talks of His patience. Take neither for granted.
