Psalm: 41

Meditation

Luke: Today we will glimpse at 4 scenes. First, David’s audacious proclamation: “The LORD said to my Lord.” (Ps. 110:1) The first LORD = YAHWEH (God Himself – thank you KJV) and the second Lord = master just as the disciples often addressed Jesus. I think Jesus, by His question, affirms David’s role as prophet. Scribes: again, Jesus is looking at the “appearance” of righteousness – very religious! The widow: she’s one of my favorites. She gave all – a great act of trust and humility that God provides. This is exactly what God expects of us. The Temple: as Jesus told the woman at the well (John 4) “Neither here not in Jerusalem” will we worship. The Temple was destroyed in A.D. 70.
