Psalm: 97

Meditation

Ecclesiasticus: This passage will close our brief overview of Ecclesiasticus. (I can hear a collective sigh saying: “It’s about time.”) What Sirach craved for and received (I might say with determination) is a gift we receive upon being “born from above” (John 3:3), that is from the Holy Spirit. Sirach spent 51 chapters on this ode to Wisdom – alas, I think most of us take it (Him) for granted. Pity! Remember, this represents the supreme gift God can give us – give way to Him in your life and stop trying always to be in control – that’s His job!

Gospel:

Matthew 20:1-16

New Testament:

1 Corinthians 14:1-12

Old Testament:

Ecclus. 51:13-22
