Psalm: 119:49-72

Meditation

Ecclesiasticus: As I read this passage, I am reminded of Paul’s discourses on spiritual gifts. Sirach considers the various artisans who make up the town: farmer, artist, blacksmith (or what we may call an auto mechanic) and potter, to name a few. Each of these gifts/talents is necessary for each exercises his gift/talent while not trying to tackle something for which he is not gifted. All of these knit themselves together for the building up of the community and/or church.

Gospel:

Luke 12:49-59

New Testament:

Revelation 14:1:13

Old Testament:

Ecclus. 38:24-34
