Psalm: 143

Meditation

Revelation: This is the second woe of three. First, we meet the two witnesses which as verse 4 tells us correspond to the two olive trees and two lampstands which are in heaven. These olive trees are fed by the river of life which flows through the celestial city (Rev. 22:1). The prophesy for 42 months (3 ½ years) “and have authority to shut the sky” for all that time, sounds similar to what Elijah went through. The plagues remind us of the consequences of a hardened heart in Egypt. The 3 ½ days the prophets are dead hearken to Jesus’ time in the tomb.
