Acts: This voyage Luke describes Paul’s last. Verse 9 tells us “…the Fast had already gone by”. This “Fast” is none other than the Day of Atonement for Jews which put us, likely in the month of September. Life at sea made strong men quake – remember how terrified the Apostles were during the squall on the Sea of Galilee (Luke 8:23-26). The sea can be very dangerous. Paul took the opportunity also to say, “I told you so…” Alas, it was not for fear of his destiny, for he knew that already but because the shipmen had ignored his warning.
