Psalm: 91
Meditation
Luke: Two wonderful events and miracles are unfolded here. While on His way to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter, Jesus is troubled that someone had touched him. The perpetrator, a woman who had been afflicted with a bleeding disorder (making her unclean), who also believed that just by touching Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. She did, and she was. By now, Jairus had been informed his child was dead, and that not with any sensitivity. Jesus proclaimed her to be “sleeping” (a euphemism for “dead”) and then said, “Child get up!” (v. 54)
