Psalm: 66
Meditation
Ecclesiasticus AKA Sirach: Sirach is the writer of this apocryphal book (but not for Catholics and Orthodox) meaning you won’t find it in your Bible. (Text attached) Because we do not regard this work as “inspired”, does not mean it should be consigned to the ash heap. These 10 verses express an underlying current which runs throughout Scripture: remember the poor, the widow, and the orphan. To look at a practical application of these principles read the Book of Ruth – a short story of but 4 chapters.
Gospel:
Matthew 16:13-20
New Testament:
1 Corinthians 10:1-13
Old Testament:
Ecclesiasticus 4:1-10
