 Hosea: Ten times in this reding the word “whore” or its attendant synonyms (prostitute, adulterer). Happily, Pastor Gelinas is teaching on the book of Hosea but don’t get your hopes up – this approach may bear little or no resemblance to the Pastor’s insights. In these verses, I see the adultery of Israel as being lifted or reduced, to the level of idolatry – which it is. I hold that idolatry is the most heinous sin against God – i.e., a violation of the first of the Ten Commandments.
