Psalm: 104

Meditation

Judith: Judith is clever. She establishes a routine in her nightly rituals. At this point, Judith feels compelled to take matters into her own hands much as Jael did in the case of Sisera. Holofernes plans a huge banquet whereupon his plan is to seduce/rape Judith, for she was rather beautiful. So, Judith and Holofernes each has his own plan working at cross-purposes. This will turn out to be the climax of the evening and the book (pun not intended).

Gospel:

Luke 4:14-30

New Testament:

Acts 19:11-20

Old Testament: Esther 7:1-10 or Judith 12:1-20
