Psalms: 129, 130
Meditation
Hosea: Gomer, Hosea’s wife, was a whore. She, herself, does not feature all that much in our story except as an object lesson. Prophets are funny (not “ha, ha” but “strange”) not one of them was “normal”. Hosea, whose name is a variant of Joshua and thus “savior”, was commissioned by God to marry a loose woman. Marriage is the object: Hosea and Gomer represent the marriage between God and His people. This marriage is just how God sees faithless Israel.
