Luke: Jesus had recently been rejected at Nazareth. He then moved on to Capernaum about 20 miles away. It is early in His ministry. It seems strange to me that when Jesus came near a demon that the demon would announce himself almost as if to challenge Jesus. Why say anything? This demon was smart enough to make himself known so Jesus released the demon’s victim and sent the demon to roam about and fend for himself. The victim was left unhurt.
