Psalm: 18

Meditation

Job: God continues to question Job and his serious limitations. Leviathan sounds something like a mythical beast, but most scholars hold that Leviathan is a crocodile. If God were to pit Job against a crocodile, job would be seriously outmatched. (v. 8) I think the point here is to underscore what Job’s position is. If Job cannot go up against Leviathan, how much less to appear to go up against, or rather, to question God?

Gospel:

John 12:9-19

New Testament:

Acts 16:6-15

Old Testament:

Job 40:1; 41:1-11
