James: The letter of James is likened to a Christian book of good discipline – what the KJV would classify as “conversation of life”. John’s reading from yesterday may actually serve as a springboard for James: “Therefore rid yourselves of all worldliness and rank growth of wickedness, and welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls.” (v. 21) Perhaps we don’t fully appreciate the word delivered to us in the Scriptures.
