Psalms: 120, 129

Meditation

Acts: Several things are at play here. Barnabas and Paul separate; Paul is making a circuit with Silas to visit the churches Paul and Barnabas had earlier established or encouraged. Barnabas takes John Mark with him to Cyprus. Timothy joins Paul in Lystra. A man’s Jewishness is determined by his mother – Timothy’s mother, Eunice, was Jewish, however, his father was a Greek. I am a little puzzled that Paul had Timothy circumcised particularly in light of Paul’s constant preaching that circumcision was of no value but “because of the Jews.” (v. 16:3)

Gospel:

John 11:55—12:8

New Testament:

Acts 15:36—16:5

Old Testament:

Job 40:1-24
