Psalm: 89
Meditation
Revelation: “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” (v. 2) The scroll is a book. At that time books were not made of paper sheets – or leaves, as they came to be called. This is the imagery with which John was familiar. The seals are another matter. The seal would represent the person who sent the scroll and if God is that Person, (it does not say so here, but I believe He was) why would someone dare to try to break the seals? There is one Who can in the next chapter.
