Psalm: 51:1-17

Meditation

Job: It is believed that Job was written about the time of Abraham – long before Moses come on the scene. Job was not a Jew; it is believed that Uz, the place from where Job comes, was either east or southeast of the Promised Land. This is a curious tale of a man recognized as righteous even by God. I think we should rethink how to view Satan. Unfortunately, good Christians, as early as the first century and throughout the NT equate Satan with the Devil or Lucifer. For our purposes, at Job’s time Satan was thought “merely” as an advocate or adversary – opposing counsel, as in a court of law.

Gospel:

John 6:16-27

New Testament:

Acts 8:26-40

Old Testament:

Job 1:1-22
