Psalm: 145
Meditation
Acts: Sometimes cooler heads do prevail, as in this case. Gamaliel, a Pharisee of some renown, urged caution to the Council of elders to exercise patience; to refrain from killing (or executing) Peter and John. He cites historical precedence because those of the Council really did not know if this new movement were really from God. Time will bear this out. Notice how John and Peter rejoiced because they were found worthy to suffer for the name of Jesus. The question remains: Are we preparing for a day when we may be asked to give that and much more to the Lord?
