John: Nathaniel meets Jesus. Philip approaches Nathaniel and announces to him that “we have hound Him about Whom Moses in the Law and all the prophets wrote…” (v. 45) Nathaniel retorts: “So what.” Later Nathaniel meets Jesus Who identifies Nathaniel as a man of no deceit. Curious why Jesus would address him in this way, he asked Him, “Where did you get to know me…” Jesus mentions something about having seen Nathaniel under a fig tree. The skeptic (Nathaniel) confesses, “You are the King of Israel.” (v. 49)
