Psalm: 49

Meditation

Romans: More about promises (see Monday’s meditation). Paul, himself a Pharisee, perhaps much of the Pentateuch (Torah – the first 5 books of the O.T.: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy). Paul also aches for Israel – his kinsman and would gladly trade his redemption for theirs. Does any of us have that kind of zeal? I wish I did, but, alas, I don’t. This is very important stuff. Paul then goes on to enumerate all the graces and gifts the Lord had provided for His people Israel. Heartbreaking.

Gospel:

Matthew 23:27-39

New Testament:

Romans 9:1-18

Old Testament:

Deut. 1:1-18
