Psalm: 72

Meditation

Proverbs: What we have here is a tantalizing smattering of pithy sayings which when reduced to a single, albeit long, sentence amount to wise=good, evil=bad. That was intended to be an over-simplification of these verses. Solomon’s advice is still, or yet again, to pursue wisdom over wealth. Because we are the way we are, “holding” our riches may make us feel secure but that is not the case. Sadly, people with much wealth worry about who may steal it, or worse, the LORD may suddenly call them to judgment as in Luke 12:13-21.

Gospel:

Matthew 12:22-32

New Testament:

1 Timothy 1:1-17

Old Testament:

Proverbs 10:1-12
