Psalm: 118

Romans: Paul is telling us again that there is something universal about the Law. In chapter 1 Paul outlines that everyone has the Law or segments of it written in his heart. This is why Paul repeatedly exclaims: “They are without excuse.” While the Gentiles may be aware of violations of the Law because his conscience may bother him, the Jew has much less of an excuse for the Law was delivered to the Jew. That is one reason why Paul says in verse 24 “For, as it is written, ‘The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.’”
