Psalm: 72

Meditation

Romans: The opening lines of this passage are so triumphant that they should make all of us who are in Christ to jump up and down with joy. That has not been my experience as I observe most Christians around me. We revisit, to some degree, what we looked at in chapter 6. The underlying point is: “But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sins, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” (8:10), This is not new: the flesh is at war with the Spirit, but the Spirit has one thing the flesh does not: the righteousness of God.

Gospel:

Matthew 22:1-14

New Testament:

Romans 8:1-11

Old Testament:

Numbers 23:11-26
