Psalm: 119:145-176

Meditation: 1 Corinthians

Paul here presents another aspect to loving one’s neighbor. While we all know no other gods exist, it does not follow that still, even today, people could not be ensnared by false gods. The example of a fellow Christian can go a long way to helping the weaker brother eschew sin. Following a false god ranks among the worst offenses against God – after all, it the first commandment. There are still places on earth where belief in many gods is prevalent. In Western society that god usually presents itself as greed – a lust for power and/or money.

Gospel: Mark 6:13-29

New Testament: 1 Corinthians 8:1-13

Old Testament: Genesis 45:16-28
