Meditation: John – Jesus’ audience asks if what he means by “going away” is that he is going to kill himself. The patience Jesus had when speaking is extraordinary. The number of times that he tells people of his upcoming sacrifice or of his true place in heaven without them understanding would make anyone pull their hair out. Even the disciples, who heard it more often than audiences, could not put two and two together.
