Meditation: 1 Kings – God often uses the lowest points in our lives to show us his power and love. Even after God, through Elijah, provided food in a miraculous way, the illness and death of her son made the woman question God’s love for her and Elijah’s purpose in her house. Relying on God does not make the darkness any easier to get through or disappear entirely, but if we look for it, we can see the light of God’s love for us shining through the shadow, providing us a way out.
