Psalm: 46
Meditation: John – Being ill or disabled is hard enough in our present time but when Jesus’s sandaled feet were on solid ground, it was even harder. People were entirely at the mercy of their family, and if their family turned their backs on them, they were at the mercy of every person who walked by them in the streets. This is why the man lying by the pool had not been lowered into the water even though it was believed to have healing properties. He had no one and no way to get better. That is, until Jesus met the man at the pool and healed him. God has a habit of meeting us where we are and healing us of our pains and fears. What are some ways that you have experienced his healing?
Gospel: John 5:1-15
