Meditation: 1 Kings – Prophets in the Old Testament tend to anger the unrighteous kings and queens of Israel. In this passage, Elijah responds to Jezebel’s threat against his life by running into the wilderness. This man is one of the most righteous men in the Old Testament. Routinely the mouthpiece of God. Here we see him begging God to let him die. Why do you think he reacted this way to Jezebel’s threat even though he knows the power of God?
