Psalm: 9

Meditation

Matthew: This scene is a rather straight forward healing for a couple of blind men (near Jericho – perhaps to avoid the dreaded Samaria). Evidently, everyone else knew that Jesus was a busy man and they urged the bind men to “sit down and shut up”. Jesus had other plans and stopped to ask these men what they wanted; “We want our sight.” (v. 33) Busy as He was, Jesus healed hem. I wonder if the crowd were moved toward compassion after having seen Christ’s compassion.

Gospel: Matthew 20:29-34

New Testament: 1 Peter 4:7-19

Old Testament: Micah 7:11-20
