Psalm: 46

Meditation

Luke: This is a curious parable one difficult to untangle. The unjust steward knows how much he had embezzled from his master. He was to make a reckoning to the rich man (his master). Clearly his working days were numbered so he settled with his master’s debtors and had a 30-50% sale (reduction in their debt). That would make him friends the old fashioned way: he bought them. Since he was caught sealing anyway, why not take a little more and “spread the wealth”? Who would know?

Gospel: Luke 16:1-13

New Testament: Acts 28:14-23

Old Testament: Esther 2:1-4
