Matthew: Yeast. Yeast is usually associated with sin [I can only think of one instance where leaven (yeast) refers to the spreading of the gospel (or “The Kingdom of heaven s like…” Matthew 13:33). The Jews were commanded in Exodus to remove all yeast during the time of Passover [8 days].  As noted above in Matthew 3:33, the kingdom of heaven will permeate throughout the world. Matthew is a Jew so he will avoid anything that even approaches the Name of God [like “God”].
