Psalm: 48

Meditation

Revelation: [Always read the book Revelation with some discretion; avoid the pitfalls of forcing the “round peg into the square hole” in other words, do not make simple associations of John’s vision to today.] “I am the Alpha and Omega, Who is, and Who was, and Who is to come, the Almighty.” (v.8) Alpha and Omega, simply in English, amounts to “A” to “Z” or “first” and “last” (of the Greek alphabet). That particular expression originated verbatim I Isaiah 44:6 – so not a new idea. John says, “I was in the Spirit…” (v. 10) a phrase Ezekiel often used. Jesus’ ascension. Also not new.

Gospel: Matthew 12:43-50

New Testament: Revelation 1:4-20

Old Testament: Zechariah 1:7-17
