1 Corinthians: (Controversial) Some believe that “tongues” exist while others that “tongues” ceased after what has come to be known as the “close of the canon” i.e., after the last book of the NT was written, or beyond the first century. That may be true, but it seems and arbitrary cut-off date. Why then? What I do believe is that today “tongues” is mostly (if not exclusively) a personal means of communication with God. I do not believe it is a gift which confirms one’s regeneration.
