Psalm: 97
Meditation
2 Chronicles: The Mosaic Law was nothing if not thorough. It seemed to provide for any contingency – this is a case in point. Hezekiah was a righteous king, but the previous king was evil thus the Temple had become defiled by idol worship and worse. The Temple had to be purified – all this takes time. Hezekiah’s desire was for an enormous celebration of the Passover. That is supposed to take place in the first month (April) but was allowed “by law” to be moved to the second month. This Passover lasted 14 days.
Gospel: Matthew 7:1-12
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 7:32-40
Old Testament: 2 Chronicles 29:1-3; 30:1 (2-9), 10-27
