1 Corinthians: Paul is making a defense here of having his material needs borne by the believers. We believe a man is worthy of his hire. It’s too bad the money is so important. We are so easily sidelined by it. I have no clue what Jesus did for a living – there is no record of His having a job while in ministry. How did His disciples pay their bills? Some continued to fish. My guess is that wealthy supporters sustained all of them.
