Matthew: As if to reinforce my thinking of how Jesus sustained Himself, He speaks to a perspective disciple. No wanting the recruit to think life with Jesus would be easy, He tells him the He, Jesus, Himself, has nowhere to lay his head. To the next candidate who only wanted to bury his father, he was told, in essence, following Jesus is more important even than that. “Let the dead bury their dead.”
