Psalms: 136
Meditation
2 Kings: Who says the OT is boring? Here we have all the makings of a Shakespearean tragedy. We have an evil queen, Athaliah, the only woman ever to have ruled in Jerusalem (or Samaria, for that matter). She was likely the daughter of Jezebel (evil queen in Samaria – wife of Ahab). Athaliah very nearly ended the royal line of David but for one 7-year-old boy, Joash. Joash, when older ushers in a period of religious reform and revival.
Gospel: Matthew 6:19-24
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 7:10-24
Old Testament: 2 Kings 11:1-20
