Psalms: 139

Meditation

Philippians: “Many live as enemies of the cross of Christ…” (v. 18) This can only mean that they live a life which does not manifest the Holy Spirit in their lives. An enemy of the cross of Christ should bring tears to our eyes. Paul then pleads for unity, if not for the body, then certainly between Euodia and Syntyche. You get the point: be reconciled to your brother. When Paul says “The Lord is near” it is to serve as hope (or a warning).

Gospel: Matthew 3:13-17

New Testament: Philippians 3:17 – 4:7

Old Testament: 1 Kings 18:41 – 19:8
