Psalm: 37

Meditation

James: James gives us a definition of godly wisdom. Earthly wisdom is gleaned principally through experience – some not good, but nonetheless beneficial. It is always wise to learn from someone else’s mistakes so as not to suffer the same fate. Bitter envy and selfish ambition are not the hallmarks of godly wisdom. The results: these may find themselves etched in the lines in the bitter man’s face. Notice the character of wisdom from heaven. (vv. 17-18)

Gospel: Mark 15:12-21

New Testament: James 3:13 – 4:12
