1 Kings: This passage shows that Solomon was wise before he had asked for wisdom. The LORD was so impressed with Solomon’s request that in addition to granting him great wisdom, the LORD also gave him great wealth and peace throughout the region. The only “fly in the ointment” or pall cast by foreshadowing was that Solomon married a daughter of Pharaoh. The LORD had warned the people in the Law not to take foreign women as wives they may prove a snare to them.
