Mark: This passage is Jesus’ explanation to the disciples’ question back in verses 13:34- “…when will these things happen?” This is somewhat bone-chilling of how the world (society/civilization) will look at the time of Jesus’ return. While I am at a loss to explain this passage in relation to Daniel 9, I can say that for some reason, prophesy fulfilled never looks like the prophesy itself. It cannot mean to us what it did not mean to the original hearers.
