Mark: Jesus makes it clear that God is to come first (last and always) for all of us. No equivocation. That is the first of the 10 Commandments – or rather, the first 4 Commandments. Loving one’s neighbor as oneself is covered in the remaining six. Since we are living in an abbreviated world (try to follow texting language), to summarize the Decalogue to two commands really is genius.
