Psalms: 104

Meditation

2 Samuel: As the opening indicates, these are the last words of David. How fitting that he would have a song (poetry) on his lips as he lay dying. I could only hope to have such calm of spirit and such praise in my heart as I am about to breathe my last. The incident about Bethlehem takes place as David is fleeing from Saul. The water of Bethlehem would surely be very sweet to David, but for all the peril of the “three”, he pours this nectar out to the LORD.

Gospel: Mark 13:1-13

New Testament: Acts 25:13-27

Old Testament: 2 Samuel 23:1-7, 13-17
