Psalm: 60
Meditation
2 Samuel: When considering David, the first rule of thumb is: “the LORD has sought out a man after His own heart.” (1 Sam. 13:14). Ahithophel gave Absalom very good advice while Absalom was pursuing David his father. The LORD sought “to frustrate the good advice of Ahithophel to bring disaster on Absalom. David’s sin regarding Bathsheba and the subsequent death of Uriah the Hittite were despicable, but the point here is that the LORD had determined to frustrate the good advice of Ahithophel in order to bring disaster on Absalom. (v. 17:14)
